no single thing abides; and all things are fucked up

you know who's always in-form? our twitter is!
To appreciate German football, friends, I recommend a review of Schillerian aesthetics, a little Clausewitz, and a shit-ton of beer.

the last component was severely lacking today, so we didn't really enjoy it)) anyway, i am not bitter at all, which is kinda strange. big credit to Ртчк who made these 90 min quite liveable

it's a bit of a shame, that this game didn't happen 2 weeks ago or so. or when Bayern played Leverkusen. it would have been more of a contest back then. Bayern picked, we dropped our form (Shinji and Mkhi slowed down a bit, Reus was in his typical "regaining fitness" form, Schmelle get himself injured right before the match, etc.) — shit happens. the only recent big game where both teams were in top form going into the fixture was CL-final, doesn't happen that often. and it didn't really help Juve. the thing is: our drop in form costs us points (and i'm not even speaking about Bayern-game here), theirs... not so much. they'd still win against 95% of opponents. so it matters only in the late stages of CL for them.
anyway, we weren't bad at all and still lost 5 to 1. Bayern were clinical with their chances (and we wasn't with ours) and kinda lucky with the penalty conceding 'cheap' goals sucks big time, Roman suddenly decided that this had to be one of these games where he looks ridiculous (too much pressure? hope games for NT will give him some confidence), our high defensive line is still prone to long balls and counters (surprise! as if we didn't know this from our last 3 games), etc. the line-up was strange but the margin of our defeat had nothing to do with that. Papa almost switch Costa off the game, Sven was immense as a CB (just imagine: after this really awful month for him when absolutely everyone thought he was done and out of the team for good he came off and played a great game against Bayern (sic!)), and Lukasz who never played at left back before had a decent game too (this is the only choice you can really question: why play Lukasz out of position when you have actual LB in Park?). Mats said that long-ball issue that in the end decided the game was caused by the lack of pressure on Boateng and Martinez on a few occasions: the idea was to protect high line from the front — that was our plan beforehand. besides, the ball stayed in the air for good 5 seconds and you'd still done jackshit about it: the defense which is under your command looked rather stupid. maybe due to the lack of proper instructions from their captain? so, Mats, it's your problem, too. and no, high line wasn't a mistake by itself: have to stay compact against them hence the high line. we are unable to play with 5-3-2/9-1-0 bus anyway)) maybe Roman positioned himself too low but that's a minor issue. maybe back three would be more effective, we'll never know.
some positives to take out of this game: 1) Castro finally arrived and playing with more and more confidence 2) Marco came in and looked lively, hope he will get some playing time in NT to improve (and no more injuries, please) 3) Weigl is absolutely immense and irreplaceable, no game is too big for him 4) Auba is LIFE 5) still ahead of Schalke (\o/) and Leverkusen, 6) fans apologised for Thursday.
things to work on: 1) implementation of high back line (@Hummels @OurEntireOffence, i'm looking at you) 2) sad pieces

as for the League: sad, sad times. you can't really sell that. and if you can't you will not get your TV-money =>no resources for the rest of the League to improve (most of them are to dumb to invest their money somewhat reasonably, but these few who aren't will struggle a lot because of that) => same sterile dominance for the years to come (before RB will get their shit together and/or Bayern will find somebody really dumb like Perez to take #allthedecisions more like dementia-epidemy for their entire board?). the last 3 years were decisive: Bayern made their step forward (and a huge one) and overs didn't. they hardly make any mistakes on a transfer market or on a pitch. and no, it's not only about the money: PSG have more and the financial gap between them and the rest of the League is even more ridiculous and still — they never are as dominant. let's just hope Pep will finally win his treble, will not extend and they'll hire Dardai (aka The New Great Manager in Making; reviving the Bundesliga Sleeping Giant #rightnow, when you are paying no attention whatsoever) as a replacement
